Controls Service Technician

Reports to: Service Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly

The Opportunity

We areseekingan experiencedControlsServiceTechniciantowork as part of a teamresponsible forstart-up troubleshootingcommissioningservicing and trainingof DDCBuildingAutomationSystems. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly with customers mechanical contractors mechanicalengineersandco-workers.

Responsibilities

• Build andmaintaincustomer relationships primarily focused on occupied building contracts

• Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure proper system functionality

• Explore and report opportunities for advanced solutions for building operationsand energy savings

• Creationand modificationsof animated graphics and minor software changes

• Performs service repairs adjustments and calibration onBuildingAutomationSystems

• Provide technical support and training to customers as applicable

• Checkoutstart-upand commissioning oncontrolsprojects

• Mentoring andassistingpeers as applicable

The Required Profile

• High School Diploma MilitaryServiceand/or Trade Schooleducation

• Minimum of five(5)years of experience with HVAC Building Automation Systemsspecifically withNiagara

• Niagara AX and N4 Honeywell Webs is a plus familiar with other control systems

• Deep understanding of BACnet protocol with someLonworksand Modbus experience

• Must have good computer skills and be familiar with IP networks

• Communication skillsrequired(bothverbal andwritten)

• Flexibleto work overtimeweekendsand/or an on-call schedule as needed

• Proficient in reading plans submittaldrawingsand wiring diagrams

• Musthave experience usingvarious hand and power tools

• Ability totravelout-of-townoccasionallymay berequired

• Valid drivers license with clean driving history

Other Skills & Abilities

Language Skills
Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

Environmental Requirements

Will berequiredto work in a field environment multiple customer siteson a daily basis.

Ability toestablishand grow relationships with customers through effective verbal and written to the needs of the customers manufacturers and peers and has the patience to actively listen to all business partners. Able to solve problems and skillfully negotiate with a minimum of noise while managing integrity and trust throughappropriate directnessand to understand personal strengths and weaknesses seekfeedbackand improve upon shortcomings.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employeeis regularly required touse hands tooperatecomputerkeyboardreachwith hands and arms. The employeefrequentlyis required tostand walk and sit. The employeeis continually required toclimb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or employee must regularly lift and/or move up to25poundsoccasionallylift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
