Job Summary

Human Resources Manager

Terms of Employment: Full-time 52 weeks 37.5 hours per week. Hours vary and may include evening and weekend hours as determined by the College.
Classification: Leadership Plan.
Annual Salary: $65000 - $70000 based on skills qualifications and experience.
FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt.

Apply online through the Apply link listed below or online at Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating employment staffing functions and training. These responsibilities include oversight of recruitment advertisement staff/faculty qualification review oversight of and participation in interviews employment contract and offer execution and hiring of minors.

Responsibilities:

  • Support HR compliance efforts by formulating improving and administering programs policies practices and processes associated with meeting legal requirements and supporting institutional goals.
  • Assist in organizing directing and evaluating the institutions human resource functions and performance.
  • Remain current on recent federal and state law changes monitoring updates that affect human resources.
  • Manage recruitment and hiring process to include conducting interviews and overseeing onboarding process ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and employment laws.
  • Lead the execution and completion of employee evaluation programs.
  • Oversee employee separation process and return of college equipment.
  • Develop coordinate and administer training and development activities including new employee orientation.
  • Complete HR reporting initiatives including Michigan New Hire and DOL reporting.
  • Serve as lead for online recruiting software.
  • Act as Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Compliance.

Supervision Given: Provide supervision to the HR staff.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in business human resources or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible human resources and leadership experience reasonably related to the assignment.
