Job Summary
Location: Menomonee Falls Wisconsin or Whitewater Wisconsin
Pay: $26.00 per hour
Program start: Tuesday May 25 2027 with limited flexibility for academic calendars
Duration: 10 weeks with the possibility of extending up to two additional weeks based on business needs and intern availability
Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week on site
As a Human Resources (HR) Intern at MacLean-Fogg you will connect classroom learning with the work of supporting employees and managers in a manufacturing business. You will work with HR professionals and teams across the facility to understand employee needs improve processes and make information easier to use.
You will take ownership of a meaningful project with guidance from an experienced team. Depending on your assignment you might improve an onboarding resource analyze a recruiting process support a learning initiative or help make employee communications clearer and more accessible. At the end of the program you will present your work findings and recommendations to leadership.

Assignments vary by location and may include:
Recruiting and Onboarding: Support candidate coordination onboarding resources or improvements to the new-employee experience.
Learning and Employee Development: Help organize learning resources support development activities and gather feedback on what employees need.
Employee Engagement and Communication: Help teams share clear information listen to feedback and support practical employee-engagement activities.
HR Operations and Process Improvement: Help improve HR instructions workflows and resources that employees and managers use.
People Data and Reporting: Use appropriately scoped data to identify patterns check accuracy and support useful HR reporting.
You do not need prior experience in these areas. Not every assignment is available at every location.
Learn the HR processes systems and employee needs relevant to your assignment.
Gather and organize information check its accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
Help prepare clear employee or manager resources for review by the HR team.
Support coordination of recruiting onboarding learning or engagement activities.
Use spreadsheets or other tools to analyze information and communicate findings.
Listen respectfully to employees and work with the HR team to direct questions to the right person.
Protect confidential information and use only the records needed for your assigned work.
Document progress follow through on commitments and ask for guidance when a matter requires an experienced HR professional.
Follow facility safety requirements and present your project results and recommendations.
Enrollment in a bachelors or masters degree program in human resources business administration organizational development psychology industrial or organizational psychology communications or a closely related field.
Interest in supporting employees and improving how people experience work.
A thoughtful approach to solving problems and checking your work.
Willingness to ask questions learn from feedback and work with people in different roles.
Ability to organize information and explain your reasoning clearly.
Availability for a full-time on-site summer internship. Limited start-date flexibility may be available for academic calendars.
All college class levels are welcome. Previous internship experience is not required. Coursework projects volunteering student activities and other jobs can demonstrate your potential.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Coursework or projects involving human resources organizational behavior communication research or data analysis.
Experience using Excel or another tool to organize and analyze information.
Experience coordinating activities creating clear written resources or helping a group improve a process.
Ownership of a project with a clear business purpose and defined deliverable.
Coaching and feedback from experienced team members.
Practical experience supporting employees and managers in a manufacturing environment.

At approved locations eligible interns may receive a one-time $3000 taxable housing allowance. To qualify your available summer residence must be more than 50 miles from the worksite you must need temporary housing for the internship and you cannot receive equivalent company-provided housing or relocation support. Payment occurs after the internship begins and required documentation is complete.
The physical demands below represent those required to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Sit at a workstation and use a computer for extended periods.
Move throughout manufacturing areas to observe equipment processes and production activities.
Occasionally lift and carry tools samples or parts weighing up to 30 pounds.
Occasionally bend stoop kneel and reach when observing equipment or components.
Review drawings gauges measurement equipment and other visual information.
Wear required personal protective equipment which may include safety glasses hearing protection and safety footwear.
Work in office and manufacturing environments where noise temperature variation and airborne particulates may be present.
