Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the organizations human resources functions by administering policies programs and procedures related to recruitment employee relations performance management benefits administration compliance training and HR operations. The HR Generalist serves as a resource for employees and management while helping ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies procedures benefits and workplace issues.
- Administer recruitment activities including job postings candidate screening interviewing background checks and coordinating the onboarding process.
- Assist managers with performance management professional development plans goal setting and performance plans.
- Investigate employee relations concerns and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA ADA accommodations workers compensation and other employee leave requests.
- Support benefits enrollment changes and employee communications.
- Monitor compliance with federal state and local employment laws and company policies.
- Generate HR reports and analyze workforce data to support organizational decision-making.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives training programs and recognition activities.
- Assist with policy development and implementation.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
- Three or more years of human resources experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including FLSA FMLA ADA EEO and related compliance requirements. Knowledge of IN employment laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in handling employee matters.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP PHR or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
