Job Summary:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating a clean safe and welcoming environment for residents staff and visitors in our assisted living community. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of resident apartments common areas and facility spaces while upholding infection control standards and ensuring resident comfort and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize resident apartments including bathrooms kitchens bedrooms and living areas.
• Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of common areas such as hallways lounges dining rooms activity spaces and restrooms.
• Dust vacuum mop sweep and polish floors and furniture as needed.
• Change linens make beds and launder resident or facility items as assigned.
• Safely handle and store cleaning supplies following proper infection control and safety protocols.
• Report any maintenance needs safety hazards or resident concerns to the appropriate staff promptly.
• Respect resident privacy and belongings while working in living spaces.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new residents to ensure a clean and welcoming move-in experience.
• Collaborate with care staff and other departments to support overall resident well-being and satisfaction.
• Adhere to community policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous housekeeping janitorial or environmental services experience preferred especially in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and infection control standards.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor when working around older adults.
• Good communication and customer service skills especially when working in resident-occupied areas.
• Must pass required criminal background check in order to serve vulnerable adults.
• Must be screened TB and other state-required health care conditions.
• Be able to read write and comprehend English.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to bend lift carry and stand for extended periods of time.
• Constant and repetitive movement of fingers hands and wrists
• Possible exposure to unpleasant odors.
• Possible exposure to chemicals as indicated in the MSDS manual.
