Position Overview
- Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
- Location: 4595 Columbus Street Virginia Beach VA 23462
- Reports To: Chief Engineer / General Manager
- Schedule: Full-time. Variable hours must include weekends and holidays; may include an on-call rotation.
- Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beachs Town Center business and entertainment district
Summary
The Maintenance Engineer keeps the property safe comfortable and fully functional by performing repairs and preventive maintenance across guest rooms public spaces and building systems. This is a hands-on role responding to guest and staff requests troubleshooting issues and maintaining hotel equipment to brand and safety standards.
Job Functions:
- Performs repairs and maintenance across HVAC plumbing electrical carpentry painting and general building systems.
- Responds to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance on guest rooms public areas and equipment on schedule.
- Maintains accurate logs of repairs inspections and preventive maintenance completed.
- Supports life-safety systems and ensures compliance with OSHA brand and company safety standards.
- If applicable maintains pool and spa systems and water chemistry in accordance with local health requirements.
- Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when handling chemicals.
- Identifies and escalates larger repair or capital needs to the Chief Engineer.
- Maintains a clean safe and organized work and storage area.
- Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
- Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
- Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1 years of hotel commercial or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical and general repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a guest-first mindset.
- Able to communicate in English verbal and written.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand walk climb kneel and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- HVAC/EPA certification or CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification a plus.
