Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Hospice Team. Our Hospice Team provides compassionate patient-centered end-of-life care to patients and their families in the home and community setting working closely with physicians advanced practice providers interdisciplinary care teams patients and families to deliver expert symptom management emotional support and high-quality care focused on comfort dignity and quality of life.

The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful holistic care to patients and families during the end-of-life journey while developing specialized skills in hospice nursing coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team and making a lasting difference in the lives of patients and those who support them.

The Registered Nurse Will:
  • Provide compassionate patient-centered nursing care to individuals with advanced illness focusingon comfort dignity and quality oflife.
  • Assess patients physical emotional and psychosocialneeds and developindividualized plans ofcare in collaborationwith the interdisciplinaryteam.
  • Monitor and managesymptoms such aspain dyspnea nausea anxiety and otherend-of-lifeconcerns using evidence-based nursing interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while educating patients families and caregivers on medication use symptom management and changesin condition.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians nurse practitioners social workers chaplains aides and other membersof the hospicecare team tocoordinate services.
  • Provide education guidance and emotional supportto patients andfamilies throughout thehospice experience includingpreparation for changesassociated with end-of-life care.
  • Respond to changesin patient statusand provide timelyclinical interventionsincluding coordinationof urgent andafter-hours hospiceneeds when appropriate.
  • Accurately document assessmentsinterventions patientresponses and carecoordination in accordancewith clinical regulatory and hospice standards.

  • Schedule: 8a-4:30p (start and end at home)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 6th Weekend

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$37.05 - $42.59 - $50.36
