Position Summary
We are seeking an experiencedHorizontal Boring Mill Machinistto join our Cleveland manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and setting up large-scale CNC horizontal boring mills used to machine heavy cast iron components and industrial parts requiring deep-hole drilling precision boring and tight dimensional tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large CNC horizontal boring mills to machine complex heavy industrial components.G&L CNC Horizontal Boring Mill 6 spindle 120 Y-axis 168 X-axis/G&L CNC Horizontal Boring Mill 5 spindle 96 Y-axis 129 X-axis

• Perform deep-hole drilling precision boring milling and related machining operations.
• Set up machine tooling and make necessary tool changes and adjustments.
• Enter and adjust tool offsets within the machines CNC control.
• Read and interpret CNCG-code and M-code.
• Inspect finished and in-process components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
• Accurately use precision inspection equipment includingmicrometers calipers thread gauges bore gauges and related measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret blueprints machining specifications and dimensional requirements.
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
• Safely handle and position large and heavy workpieces.

• Previous experience operatingCNC horizontal boring millsis strongly preferred.
• CNC lathe experience involving parts approximately5 15 in diameteris preferred.
• Strong understanding of CNCG-code and M-code programming.
• Proven ability to set up machine tooling and adjust tool offsets using a CNC control.
• Experience with atool presetteris a plus.
• Ability to read and accurately use micrometers calipers thread gauges bore gauges and other inspection equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment screening.
• Must be willing to work required overtime including weekdays and Saturdays.
