High School PT Teacher

The music teacher will provide students with a strong foundation in music theory and musical literacy. Responsibilities include teaching fundamental concepts such as notation rhythm scales intervals key signatures chords harmony and basic composition. The teacher will also assess student understanding provide feedback and support students in developing confidence and independence as musicians. The ultimate goal for the music teacher is to have students ready for a group performance at FYHS events.

The teacher prepare engaging lesson plans give constructive feedback and organize performances as appropriate. They also maintain classroom resources keep records of student progress and work with parents and other educators to support students musical growth.

Skills

• A strong background in music creativity and communication skills are essential for success in this role
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands

• Extensive Use of Computers
• Extensive time sitting and standing
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
