Job Summary
Locations: North Platte Nebraska

Anticipated Start and End Dates: October 13th through December 18th with flexibility
Salary Information: $22 per hour. 32-40 hours per week.
Duties: Work in a joint capacity with Pheasants Forever Inc. (PF) in the Loess Canyons of Nebraska removing scattered Eastern Red Cedar. Activities may include hand cutting cedar trees with a variety of hand tools. Interns will work closely with multiple wildlife biologists assisting with various projects related to wildlife management.

Training and Experience Guideline:
Any combination of training and/or experience that will enable the applicant to possess the required knowledge skills and abilities. Applicant must be interested or possess a degree in wildlife management or closely related natural resources field.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to work effectively with private landowners governmental agency staff and conservation organization representatives.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to work under adverse weather conditions.
- Must be in physical shape to operate hand tools power tools and specialized equipment such as chainsaws loppers and brush cutters. As assigned by crew leader.
- Perform equipment and tool maintenance to ensure readiness and accountability of assigned gear.
- Complete daily work logs time reports and treatment accomplishment records.
- Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
- Valid drivers license required with an acceptable driving record.
- Complete and comprehend all training as directed by supervisor(s).
- Abide by all company policies rules and safety regulations as directed.
- Collect research data concerning tree cutting.
