Job Description
The Data Migration Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing planning and managing the business aspects of transferring data from legacy systems to Guidewire PolicyCenter while ensuring data accuracy integrity and successful stakeholder adoption.
The role involves gathering and documenting business requirements profiling source data creating data mapping specifications collaborating with IT and business teams supporting QA in developing testing strategies and ensuring a seamless and efficient data transition with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements for data migration by working closely with stakeholders to understand business processes and data usage.
- Analyze source and target data to identify discrepancies data quality issues and data integrity problems.
- Create detailed data mapping specifications describing how data will be transformed and migrated from source to target systems.
- Develop and contribute to migration strategies risk assessments migration plans and quality testing strategies.
- Collaborate with IT teams developers subject matter experts and business users to ensure successful planning and execution.
- Create and maintain project documentation including functional specifications technical specifications test reports and training materials.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the data migration process and data integrity standards.
- Communicate project status risks and progress with business and technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Ability to understand analyze and document business processes related to data migration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with both business and technical teams.
