Job Summary
Job Description
The purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds of the campus in a clean and safe condition including care of landscaping roads and walkways. Duties and Responsibilities Performs snow removal to maintain clear safe walkways roads and parking lots. Maintains campus lawn and landscape; keeps grounds clean of old or damaged growth debris and trash. Schedules activities such as reseeding fertilizing and pesticide application to ensure maximum benefit within budget. Monitors/performs care and upkeep of departmental buildings and equipment; schedules equipment repairs as needed. Maintains inventory on equipment; notifies Physical Plant Director of need for additional or replacement equipment. Applies tar to roadways; performs concrete work; schedules and paints parking lot lines as needed. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. This is a full-time grade 3 support position with an hourly wage of $17.97. Benefits include health dental long-term disability and group life insurance; retirement tuition waiver; paid vacation sick leave and holidays.
Physical Demands
Moderate physical effort required; may include climbing balancing stooping crawling and movement of moderately heavy objects and materials. Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination; ability to operate machinery equipment tools and materials in the performance of duties; ability to discriminate colors or shades of colors; ability to discriminate depth and sound. Typical operations may involve use of light-duty equipment and hand/power tools.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or HSED . Related work experience. Valid drivers license with optional CDL endorsement. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Current pesticide applicators license/certification preferred or willing to obtain
