Job Summary
Avondale House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals with autism. Our programs include an adult day program that offers training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities employment services and four residential group homes for individuals who are unable to live independently.
This position supports the Facilities Department by maintaining the appearance safety and functionality of the grounds at the Avondale House main campus and residential care homes. Since 1976 Avondale House has been dedicated to serving individuals with autism and their families.

Job Duties
- Perform landscaping and lawn care including mowing trimming weeding and debris removal.
- Plant maintain and prune trees shrubs flowers and other vegetation.
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Operate maintain and service landscaping and groundskeeping equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative in planning and completing assignedtasks.
- Knowledge of landscaping practices and the ability to perform grounds maintenance duties.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid drivers license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for 68 hours per day.
- Ability to bend stoop kneel push and pull as required to perform job duties.
