Job Summary
OPENING DETAILS:Monday - Friday 8 hours per dayWork Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)Salary Range: 43 (Employees new to the District will begin at Step-I) BASIC FUNCTION:Under the direction of an assigned supervisor operate power mowing andrelated grounds equipment to maintain District grounds and various athleticfields in a clean and safe condition; trim and prune trees; prepare various athleticfields for classes sports and other special events. Service and adjust equipmentand perform other grounds maintenance duties.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST CREATE AN ACCOUNT THROUGH TO APPLYEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate KNOWLEDGE OF: Methods materials tools and large power equipment used in grounds keeping; operation and maintenance of power grounds equipment and tools used in grounds department; operation of vehicles used in grounds department; health and safety regulations pertaining to position; safe and proper tree trimming and pruning methods; requirements of maintaining school grounds in a safe clean and orderly condition; proper methods of storing equipment materials and supplies; herbicides pesticides and other chemicals used in grounds maintenance. ABILITY TO: perform responsible grounds keeping duties; operate and maintain power grounds equipment and tools; exercise caution and be alert to children while mowing school lawns and fields; trim and prune tall trees in a safe and proper manner; climb ladders and trees using climbing gear and equipment; maintain routine records and logs on equipment; understand and follow oral and written directions; use herbicides and other chemicals using safe and proper methods; work cooperatively and effectively with others; perform heavy manual labor; lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds using safe and proper methods and/or equipment; move objects weighing over 50 pounds using safe and proper methods and/or equipment; operate motorized vehicles and grounds equipment including manual transmissions. Two years grounds keeping or related experience including experience in the operation of power mowing equipment or trimming INCLUDE EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THIS POSITION ON YOUR APPLICATION OR RESUME IT IS REQUIRED FOR SCREENING PURPOSES.
