Job Summary
The Grounds Person is responsible for maintaining the district grounds in a clean safe and orderly condition. This role helps ensure the outdoor environment is well-maintained and promotes the health safety and well-being of students staff and visitors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Maintains a valid Illinois Drivers License and obtains and maintains all required certifications and training relevant to the position as deemed necessary by the Executive Director of Facilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable certifications related to pesticide application equipment operation and snow removal activities as required.
- Ability to safely operate and transport equipment including mowers tractors skid steers utility vehicles snow plows spreaders trailers and other grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer skills.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and respond to changing operational needs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
- Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort in heavy work typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing stooping kneeling crouching and the lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds independently.
