Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

SOCOTEC has an immediate opening for a Graduate (Staff) Geotechnical Engineer in Houston Texas.

• Coordinate and schedule geotechnical subsurface evaluations
• Perform boring mark-outs for utility clearance and supervise drill rig crews
• Classify soils and log borings test pits and cores
• Conduct floor level surveys and document distressed structures
• Assign laboratory testing and assist with geotechnical report preparation
• Compile laboratory test data and perform geotechnical analyses
• Conduct calculations for shallow and deep foundations slope stability and settlement

Qualifications :

Education

• B.S. in Civil Geological or Geotechnical Engineering (required)
• M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering or related field (preferred)

Required Skills

• Entry-level to up to 2 years of geotechnical consulting experience (preferred)
• Understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude strong work ethic and good organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
