The Global Supplier Quality Team drives customer focus excellence and continuous improvement throughout our external and vertically integrated suppliers and ensures compliance with Industry Customer and Celestica Requirements. We drive a Zero Defect culture with emphasis on maximizing value and preventing quality problems. Quantifying managing and mitigating supply chain risk to provide continuous flow of quality parts whilst minimizing supply chain disruption.
The Manager GSQ performs tasks including the following:
Provide leadership and guidance to other GSQ team members.
Monitor customer and Celestica requirements/expectations flowed down to suppliers and sub suppliers to ensure clear expectations are defined and understood.
Lead Quality Planning during new product introduction flawless launch transitions and significant process changes. Participate in supplier onboarding.
Support risk-based Supplier Audit program. Performing on-site or virtual Supplier audits to assess quality systems and capabilities.
Develop and deploy robust Global Supplier Quality processes and procedures. Document control maintenance and continual improvement of Supplier Quality processes.
Report key issues supplier performance and other metrics to management.
Work with Celesticas site representatives Commodity Teams and Suppliers to effectively drive root cause and corrective action to resolve problems.
Identify risks and supplier performance issues and drive Supplier Quality Development to address systemic issues.
Participate in Periodic Business Reviews of high impact/ Preferred Suppliers. Active engagement in Celesticas supplier performance objectives.
Facilitate and manage the education of suppliers on core quality tools such as FMEA Control Plans 8D/ Root Cause Analysis and problem resolution.
Proven Leadership and collaboration skills.
Ability to effectively lead and manage multiple projects and teams.
Practical knowledge of international industry quality standards including as appropriate AS9000 series ISO13485 AITF16949 FDA VDA etc.
Experience with electronic and mechanical assembly and a wide range of manufacturing processes.
Extensive experience with conducting quality audits. Lead Auditor certification preferred.
Advanced problem-solving skills able to lead a team to apply root cause analysis and corrective action using 8D process and formal quality tools.
Extensive knowledge of Core Quality Tools including APQP FMEA PPAP Control Plans SPC and Gage
Understanding of and of control of Key/Critical characteristics.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly motivated passionate and collaborative with an ability to work remotely.
Able to travel 25%-30%.
Physical Demands:
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise dust chemicals operating machinery temperature extremes hazardous substances etc.
Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry using a computer mouse using a calculator etc.) are frequently required. Ability to travel 25%-50%.
Min 10 years experience in manufacturing engineering quality and /or supply chainof relevant experience.
