Our Emerson Test & Measurement / NI Procurement team is growing and we are seeking a Global Commodity Manager based in Austin Texas to lead our Semiconductor portfolio including ASICs FPGAs Processors High-Speed Data Converters Precision Data Converters and related technologies.

This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring continuity of supply across a complex and dynamic semiconductor landscape. The successful candidate will lead supplier escalation and shortage management activities while developing long-term commodity strategies that support business growth product innovation and operational resilience.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments can effectively navigate supply constraints influence executive stakeholders and build strong supplier partnerships to mitigate risk and secure supply. Reporting to the Director of Global Direct Procurement this individual will own the global semiconductor spend and serve as the primary procurement leader for one of the companys most critical commodities.

IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

  • Develop and execute global semiconductor commodity strategies that balance business growth objectives cost competitiveness supply continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Lead supplier escalation activities and act as the primary point of contact for supply shortages allocation challenges capacity constraints and critical business continuity issues.
  • Partner closely with suppliers to secure capacity improve lead time visibility influence allocation decisions and mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Drive cross-functional shortage management activities with Operations Supply Chain Engineering Procurement Engineering Manufacturing and R&D teams to minimize business impact.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level supplier relationships to improve responsiveness accountability and long-term strategic alignment.
  • Monitor semiconductor market intelligence technology roadmaps capacity trends geopolitical developments and supplier risk factors to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  • Lead sourcing negotiation contracting and supplier management activities to achieve best-in-class commercial outcomes and total cost of ownership improvements.
  • Identify and execute opportunities that improve cost productivity operational efficiency and sustainability performance.
  • Develop and implement supply risk mitigation plans including alternate sourcing strategies lifecycle management initiatives inventory strategies and supplier resiliency programs.
  • Present supply risk assessments commodity strategies market intelligence and executive updates to senior leadership.
  • Drive supplier performance across cost quality delivery innovation and responsiveness metrics.
  • Mentor procurement team members and foster strong cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
  • Champion Emerson and NI values culture and leadership principles within internal and external partnerships.

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing commodity management procurement or supply chain management within a multinational organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations supplier escalations shortage management allocation management and business continuity initiatives.
  • Proven track record influencing outcomes during challenging supply environments and managing complex supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills with experience driving commercial outcomes in constrained markets.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret market intelligence supplier performance metrics and risk indicators.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience presenting to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution in a dynamic environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
