Microbiology Junior Research Technician 1 Year Temporary Contract

Our Fragrance and Beauty Division has four main business areas: Fine Fragrance Consumer Products Active Beauty and Fragrance Ingredients. Every day we touch the lives of a huge number of global consumers through our market-leading prestige fragrances and oral care flavours for iconic household and personal care products. The Science and Technology team is actively involved in providing day-to-day support for these developments as well as key innovations to support our future developments.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic Microbiology graduate to join the Science and Technology team in Ashford Kent contributing to research that shapes the future of the fragrance industry.

Under direct supervision you will:

• Accurately follow procedures to safely conduct laboratory experiments working independently following initial training
• Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment
• Assist with the development of appropriate methods to support research programmes
• Analyse experimental data using both traditional and data-driven techniques whilst accurately documenting results and conclusions
• Present findings and discuss them with senior team members to gather insights and agree on further actions

• Build upon existing knowledge in the field of microbiology relevant to malodour

Your competencies:

• Fluent English
• Practical experience with aseptic technique and fundamental microbiology methods
• Good knowledge of lab equipment and its safe use to perform research experiments
• Good knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines as they pertain to lab maintenance and operation
• An ability to work alone or as a part of a team
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
• Numerate and computer literate
• Highly organised individual

Academic Background

• A degree in Microbiology

This is a 12 month temporary contract.
