Position Overview:
Job Summary
Input processing and maintenance of Alabama Power Distribution Lines and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.
Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors degree (Geography GIS or similar field) GIS Certificate or at least 2 years of full time GIS work experience is required
- Power Distribution knowledge is a plus
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software required; experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus
- Competency with standard computer software to include Microsoft Office suite is required
- Capable of working in a team environment is required
- Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus
Work Schedule & Location
Flexible to work 40 hours per week M-F in an office environment in Birmingham Alabama.
Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day starting as early as 7 am and ending as late as 5 p.m.
Flexible to work remotely (from home) as well. Remote work requires a stable broadband Internet connection of 20mb/s or capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN and is the responsibility of the worker.
Work Arrangement
Note: Following an estimated training period of 3 months in Birmingham AL (duration may vary by individual) the role may transition to primarily remote work with occasional in-office requirements for meetings training or other business needs.
However only candidates currently residing locally will be considered. Those willing to relocate will not be eligible. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Birmingham office as per diem will not be provided for any on-site requirements.
