Job Summary
Exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer looking to join the team in Minneapolis! This is a hybrid position with working three days in the office and two days remote.
- Analyze subsurface conditions and support design of tunnels shafts trenchless systems and open-cut excavations
- Plan/Participate in geotechnical investigations (select boring locations report soil/rock conditions interpret field data)
- Develop clear engineering recommendations to move projects forward by using boring logs lab data and field observations
- Prepare geotechnical deliverables (data reports interpretive reports and other technical documentation to support the design/construction
- Perform site visits construction observation and inspections for underground structures slopes and related infrastructure
- Contribute to all phases of a project including design support and construction coordination (RFIs submittals field communication)
- Collaborate with other team members
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering (Geotechnical emphasis preferred)
- 4 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with underground design trenchless methods or tunneling projects
- Knowledge of subsurface investigations soil borings and geotechnical report development
- Experience with open-cut excavations slope stability and earthwork design
- Experience supporting construction-phase services field investigations or construction observation
- Familiar with trenchless construction methods (microtunneling HDD or auger boring) preferred
- Experience working in a consulting engineering environment preferred
- Ability to manage multiple assignments/priorities in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Desire to mentor junior staff and contribute to team development preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience.
