Job Summary:
As a General Manager youll provide strategic leadership for all aspects of railroad operations driving safety service excellence and financial performance across your assigned territory. This high-impact role is responsible for building strong teams fostering customer relationships and ensuring that railroads operate efficiently while meeting business goals.

Youll lead both operational and administrative functions balancing day-to-day execution with long-term planning. This role is ideal for a results-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing people serving customers and growing the business.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Full-time (40 plus hours weekly)
• Varying schedule in a 24/7 work environment that includes nights holidays weekends and on-call
• Must be available to take calls and report outside of normal business hours on short notice to handle emergencies or situations related to maintaining fluid railroad operations
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Walking long distances on uneven surfaces and climbing ladders and equipment always ensuring three points of contact in varying environmental conditions
• Able to squat bend and lift overhead
• Have good balance and coordination
• Must meet vision requirements (including color)

Skills and Experience:

• 5 years of work experience in the railroad industry with supervisory duties; 7 years of experience in the railroad industry preferred
• Thorough knowledge of FRA regulations and railroad operations including but not limited to transportation dispatching marketing maintenance-of-way mechanical and clerical activities
• Analytical/Problem Solving
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with senior management employees customers railroads regulatory officials and the general public
• Proficient computer skills and skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules the Code of Federal Regulations and monthly financial reports
• Possess situational awareness and decision-making abilities to respond effectively in a safety sensitive environment

Required Education and Credentials:

• Associates degree or an equivalent combination of high school diploma / GED and experience; bachelors degree preferred
• Valid Drivers License

Employment Requirements:

• Pre-employment physical hearing and vision medical review
• Subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screening
• Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history

Relocation:
Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.
