Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is looking for General Equipment Operators to join our Utility Crew on our Cloverdale Maintenance Team. At ACHD you wont spend your days behind a desk. Youll operate a variety of equipment work alongside a team and help keep Ada Countys roads and infrastructure safe clean and in good working order. And when winter weather hits youll be part of the team that keeps people moving. These are full-time non-exempt positions with a starting wage of $23.80$26.20 per hour DOQ.

What Youll Do:

  • Get hands-on and make a difference in the community by performing skilled maintenance work manual labor and operating light- to heavy-duty equipment.
  • No two days are exactly alike. Your work may include cleaning and maintaining ditches repairing cave-ins installing and repairing pipe and installing concrete.
  • Help keep Ada County moving when winter weather or other emergencies hit. This essential function may require working outside of normal work hours.

What Youll Need:

  • Experience in construction and concrete work such as setting forms and finishing curbs and sidewalks is desired as well as the ability to shoot grade and lay pipe to grade.
  • A current Idaho Class A CDL license with tanker endorsement.
  • If license is from another state must be able to obtain an Idaho CDL by start of employment.
  • If you do not have tanker endorsement you must be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience operating a 10-wheel dump truck or similar type of truck is required and experience in operating a sweeper is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Strong work ethics are required.
  • Any combination of education training or experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities may be acceptable.
