Job Summary:Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Centerwhere precision meets purpose. AsaMechanicyoullplay a critical role in the overhaul repair and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and militaryaircraftaround the world. Working in a hands-on team-driven environmentyoullapply your mechanicalexpertiseto ensure engines are restored to peak performance safety and reliability.

This is a 1st Shift position:Monday Thursday 5:00 am 3:30 pm

What You Will Do:

  • Works under general supervision

  • Receives some direction on normal work activities and general instructions on new assignments or activities

  • Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine engine module orcomponentmaintenancein accordance with

  • published work instructions and approved technical data.

  • Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.

  • Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructionscomply withrequired self-inspection or peerinspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety Quality and Deliveryobjectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HighSchoolDiploma or GED

  • Typically requires 3yearsof mechanical experience in manufacturing maintenance automotive aviation military or a related technical field

QualificationsWePrefer:

  • Aviation engineoverhaul and repairexperience

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate

  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly Inspection Assembly or Turbine Engine Test Operations.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma

  • Experience usingMicrosoft Office applications and SAP
