Job Overview
Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center is seeking two detail-oriented and experiencedGastroenterology Procedure/Surgery Schedulersto join an active digestive health outpatient care network. This team provides full-spectrum care covering Linn Benton Lincoln and neighboring counties. This is a local contract position located strictly on-site in Corvallis Oregon requiring a professional who can seamlessly manage specialized clinical scheduling and provide compassionate patient guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Specialized Scheduling:Accurately schedule complex gastroenterology procedures and surgeries (such as colonoscopies and endoscopies) in strict accordance with direct physician orders.
- Patient Inbound Intake:Answer incoming calls from patients regarding preparation instructions required arrival guidelines and clinical scheduling timelines.
- Prep Guidance Support:Provide clear accurate and compassionate guidance to ensure patients thoroughly understand required pre-procedure preparation steps to support a positive safe care experience.
- System Logging:Navigate and update theEPIC EMRplatform to securely maintain calendar records chart entries and patient communication logs.
Compensation & Contract Details
- On-Call Pager Structure:No on-call expectations are tied to this clerical contract loop.
- Holiday & Overtime Rules:Standard overtime rules apply after 40 hours per week. No holiday coverage rotations are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience Required:Minimum ofone (1) yearof dedicated experience and/or training in a position of surgery/procedure scheduling complexity. General medical schedulers will not be considered without specialized surgery or procedure-block tracking experience.
- Software Competency:Experience and/or training with basic computer applications is required.Strong preference and priority consideration will be given to candidates with active EPIC EMR experience.
- Location Constraint:This is a strictly local contract assignment.Candidates must reside within local commuting distance (such as the immediate Corvallis Albany Salem or Eugene sectors). Out-of-state travelers seeking housing stipends will be automatically rejected by the hiring coordinator.
- Education:High school diploma or equivalent baseline required. Familiarity with specific medical and insurance terminology is highly preferred.
