FWS Student Assistant Electrical Engineering
Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the College of Engineeringis seeking to hire up to three FWS students for Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
The student(s) will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Walking daily errands
- Office/workspace organizational tasks and duties
- Answering and transferring multi-line office phone line
- Greeting and directing students/guests
- Assist department faculty and staff with requested assignments
- Maintaining electronic files
- File paperwork
- Sort mail and place into department mailboxes daily
- Operate office equipment and machines (copy machine fax machine etc.)
Average Number of Hours per Week:10-20 hours per week
Schedule:Flexibility to work anytime between 8 - 5 Monday - Friday
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must have a current Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year in order to apply for this position. Applicants are asked to demonstrate proof of their FWS award by saving their Award Overview screen from OASIS as a print screen and then pasting it into a Word document and upload it as part of any additional required application materials. Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal student candidates should have prior work experience in an office or customer service environment and conflict resolution experience is preferred. Availability to work flexible hours Monday - Friday. Have experience with Microsoft Office programs (MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook). High attention to detail and a sense of urgency when completing tasks.
