FUL Recreation Fee Technician
Job Summary
You will serve as a FUL - Recreation Fee Technician. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties associated with the collection deposit tracking and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public. At this grade level the position is primarily responsible for carrying out a wide variety of clerical and technical assignments that involve the application of fee program knowledge and the policies procedures and practices of fee collection.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g. cash registers road/trail registers honor systems automated fee machines (AFMs) donation boxes etc.).
- Process reservation arrivals and departures; create modify and/or cancel reservations; monitor inventory quotas and reservable versus first-come first-served availability.
- Perform recurring or standardized reconciliation duties involved with ensuring fee and/or donation funds collected are appropriately deposited in the proper accounts or functional areas.
- Maintain accountability records of fee collections showing transactions from the point-of-receipt to the time-of-deposit
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- You must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

As a condition of employment for accepting this position you will be required to serve a 1 year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level:
- OR -
Education: Successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level if related. Education must demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work.
- OR -
Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a bachelors degree in excess of 60 semester hours and divide by 60 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
You must submit a copy of your transcript(s) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include your name school name grades credit hours earned major(s) grade point average or class ranking and date the degree was conferred if applicable. A typed list of courses grades semester/quarter hours GPA etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs. Physical Demands: This position requires standing for long periods of time as well as walking bending and lifting of moderately heavy items. Mental stress and physical fatigue occur due to the high volume of personal contacts and the responsibility of dealing with large amounts of money. If applicable extreme physical exertion may be required while performing search and rescue wildland firefighting or emergency response
duties.
