Position Summary


The Fuel Facility Manager at the Atlanta Airport is responsible for overseeing the daily operation maintenance and performance of airport fuel facilities including fuel receipt activities pumping and filtration systems underground hydrant systems inventory control and compliance with applicable safety environmental and regulatory requirements.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fuel facility operations to promote safe efficient and compliant performance
  • Manage fuel receipt storage transfer and inventory control activities
  • Monitor fuel quality assurance programs operational records and inventory reconciliation processes
  • Direct operational personnel staffing schedules and daily workflow activities
  • Maintain compliance with applicable contracts permits leases company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop implement and update operational procedures and process improvements
  • Coordinate fuel movements with scheduling and operations teams while ensuring accurate documentation
  • Monitor operating budgets and communicate variances to leadership as needed
  • Promote safety security quality assurance and loss prevention initiatives
  • Investigate operational irregularities and coordinate corrective action efforts
  • Participate in hiring training employee development and performance management activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business and operational needs

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. drivers license with an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends holidays and overtime as operational needs require
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks including federal fingerprinting in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties including secured areas in compliance with airport and federal regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background checks and clearance requirements as determined by the contracting agency
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in bulk fuel storage fuel handling operations or a related operational management environment
  • Experience with fuel facility operations inventory management and regulatory compliance

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a safety-focused or highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of industry standards regulatory requirements and operational best practices related to fuel operations
  • Proven ability to lead guide and develop team members in a safety-focused operational environment
  • Ability to apply organizational policies procedures and standards consistently while fostering a professional respectful and inclusive workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to train coach and motivate team members and communicate professionally with customers stakeholders regulatory agencies and airport authorities
  • Strong interpersonal communication problem-solving organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions maintenance guidelines and procedural manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English as required to perform job duties and support safe operations in the airport environment including during emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written verbal or diagram form
  • Proficiency with computer systems and common workplace software applications including Microsoft Office applications data entry and operational reporting systems

Physical and Environmental Requirements


This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially

hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that

must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without

Mobility and Access

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50 steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more including high precarious places
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights
  • Ability to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes including automated lifts up to 26 feet

Lifting and Carrying

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
  • Ability to shovel materials such as snow sand dirt gravel or rocks as needed

Standing and Movement

  • Ability to sit stand walk bend squat kneel crawl twist climb and balance for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive physical movements including bending at the waist and knees and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions
  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work such as attaching fueling hoses

Manual Dexterity

  • Use hands and fingers to handle feel grip and operate tools equipment and controls

Sensory Requirements

  • Hear and respond to verbal instructions environmental sounds and audible alarms
  • Maintain the following vision capabilities

  • Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors)
