FRP Spray Operator

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate chopper gun in a manner consistent with Safe Work Practices.
• Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner.
• Participate in the maintaining of a healthy Safety Culture at the facility.
• Follow instructions from operators and supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
• Maintain accurate labeling layout and marking of parts and completed products and subcomponents.
• Ensure safety cleanliness and equipment maintenance within the plant.
• Promote a culture of quality safety and teamwork on the production floor.

Job Duties

• Fabricate FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) pipe polygons and other accessories in accordance with quality standards.
• Operate a variety of tools and material handling equipment including grinders utility knives rotating molds and forklifts.
• Perform grinding smoothing patching and installation tasks for seams nozzles manways and other components.
• Support layout and fitting of shells and parts per drawings and specifications.
• Conduct measurements visual inspections and quality checks; report issues to appropriate personnel.
• Control inventory and storage of fiberglass materials rolls and sheets.
• Assist with part and product preparation for shipment.
• Perform minor tool and equipment maintenance cleaning tools and rollers regularly.
• Apply product markings stencils and labels according to specifications.
• Work in varying environmental conditions including high noise and temperature extremes.
• Lift/move materials and components as required (up to 50 lbs).
• Wear a respirator for extended periods (8 hours) as required by tasks.

Education and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Physically able to meet job demands including lifting standing and working in non-climate-controlled areas.
• Experience with fiberglass composites or layup techniques preferred.
• Must be dependable safety-conscious and able to work well in a team environment.
