This is a remote position.
Location: Remote - Preference for Candidates in the Washibgton Maryland Virginia (DMV) Metro
Position Type: Contract
Minimum Availability: 40 hours per week
Role Summary
Frontend implementation across Drupal theming MDWDS components page templates and accessibility remediation throughout the build and migration phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Build site theme and page templates using MDWDS.
- Perform manual page builds during content migration.
- Migrate front-end components from legacy to new templates.
- Apply accessibility fixes in templates for remediation.
- Implement front-end redirect handling logic.
- Resolve UI/UX defects during QA and verification.
- Document UI components for governance.
- Apply bug fixes and content edits during hyper-care.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of frontend development experience.
- Drupal theming experience using Twig.
- Strong HTML5 CSS3 and modern JavaScript skills.
- Experience with design systems (MDWDS USWDS or equivalent).
- Accessibility-aware development at WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- Experience with state or federal accessibility audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Acquia Certified Frontend Specialist.
- Experience with large-scale content migration
