Front Desk Agent
We are seeking a polished dependable and service-minded Front Desk Agent to join The Current Hotel an Autograph Collection hotel. The Front Desk Agent creates the first and last impression of the guest experience by providing a warm welcome completing front desk transactions accurately recognizing Marriott Bonvoy members and taking ownership of guest ideal candidate communicates confidently remains composed in a fast-paced environment and works closely with every hotel department to provide a seamless guest experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and acknowledge every guest in a warm and professional manner.
- Process guest check-ins check-outs room assignments room moves late check-out requests and room key issuance.
- Confirm guest identity reservation details room rate payment method authorization and incidental requirements before issuing keys.
- Review guest folios post approved charges and adjustments explain charges and resolve billing questions within established authority.
- Handle cash credit cards deposits vouchers and the assigned cash bank accurately.
- Complete shift balancing daily checklists reports traces shift notes and required documentation.
- Recognize Marriott Bonvoy members provide eligible benefits and promote program enrollment accurately.
- Respond promptly to guest questions requests complaints and service opportunities.
- Document guest concerns communicate with the appropriate department and follow up to confirm completion.
- Answer telephone calls relay messages and respond to mobile chat and other approved guest communication channels.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping Engineering Food and Beverage Valet Sales and hotel leadership regarding room readiness amenities maintenance needs and guest concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge of guestrooms hotel outlets amenities packages promotions local attractions transportation options and hotel events.
- Support room revenue through accurate reservation handling and clear communication of hotel offerings.
- Protect guest privacy and confidential information.
- Follow payment security key control cash-handling safety emergency and loss-prevention procedures.
- Maintain a clean organized and professional front desk and back-office workspace.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by hotel leadership.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous hotel hospitality retail restaurant or customer-service experience preferred.
- Experience with a hotel property management system Marriott systems or Opera is preferred.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail reliability discretion and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and accurate while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays based on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand walk or work at a computer and telephone for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout the lobby Front Office and hotel as needed.
- Ability to reach bend lift carry push pull or place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to perform repetitive computer telephone and payment-processing tasks accurately.
