Freelance Medical Interpreter

We are seeking experienced freelance interpreters in the Philadelphia area to support medical interpretation assignments between English and the following languages:

• Spanish English

• Vietnamese English

• Bengali English

Assignments will primarily take place in healthcare settings including hospitals clinics medical offices and other patient-care environments.

• Provide accurate complete and impartial interpretation between patients families and healthcare professionals.

• Interpret medical information clearly while preserving meaning tone and intent.

• Follow professional standards for confidentiality ethics and cultural sensitivity.

• Arrive on time prepared and professionally dressed for scheduled assignments.

• Maintain appropriate boundaries and comply with all client-site and healthcare privacy requirements.

• Professional fluency in English and at least one of the following: Spanish Vietnamese or Bengali.

• Prior medical interpreting experience required.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare communication.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret accurately in high-pressure or sensitive situations.

• Reliable transportation and availability for assignments throughout the Philadelphia area.

• Completion of a minimum 40-hour medical interpreter training program is a plus.

• Experience interpreting in hospitals emergency departments specialty clinics behavioral health or other medical settings.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare confidentiality standards.

This is a freelance/independent contractor opportunity. Assignment volume location duration and scheduling will vary based on client demand and interpreter availability.
