Fraud & Recoupment Specialist

Job Summary
The Fraud & Recoupment Specialist supports program integrity by reviewing documentation identifying potential fraud waste abuse misrepresentation and overpayments and coordinating referrals to Board investigators. This position maintains case documentation tracks fraud and recoupment activities supports audits and compliance reviews and helps ensure compliance with applicable program requirements while safeguarding public funds.
- Review participant employer vendor and program records to identify potential fraud waste abuse misrepresentation overpayments and compliance concerns.
- Collect organize and maintain documentation supporting fraud referrals and recoupment activities.
- Prepare and submit fraud referrals and supporting case documentation to Board investigators.
- Track monitor and maintain confidential records related to fraud referrals investigations and recoupment efforts.
- Assist with the recovery of overpayments and improper payments in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Conduct file reviews and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with program requirements and contract standards.
- Prepare reports and provide documentation for audits monitoring reviews and compliance assessments.
- Identify trends risks and process improvement opportunities related to program integrity and fund recovery.
- Educate staff on fraud prevention compliance requirements and documentation standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration Criminal Justice Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience in compliance auditing workforce development quality assurance case management recoupment or related functions preferred.
- Experience working with WIOA or other federally funded programs preferred.
Valid drivers license proof of automobile insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required. Must maintain these requirements throughout employment and be able to travel locally as needed.
