The Mission Systems FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software team is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development of advanced FPGA and ASIC technologies supporting next-generation radio this role you will drive projects from planning and scheduling through execution and completion partnering across engineering program management and customer teams to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget.

Our team develops cost-competitive high-performance technologies that differentiate Collins Aerospace in the aerospace and defense industry. We are looking for an action-oriented collaborative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and is motivated by delivering results. You will serve as the engineering focal point for project execution ensuring technical performance commitments are met while coordinating design and development activities across multiple stakeholders. You may also have opportunities to lead customer-facing efforts including bids proposals and technical presentations.

This is an opportunity to combine technical engineering expertise project leadership and customer engagement while helping shape the next generation of FPGA and ASIC solutions for critical aerospace and defense applications.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as Project Engineering for FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software programs to ensure internal and customer commitments are met

  • Provide project management direction during all program phases including pursuit bidding planning and execution

  • Track and report cost and schedule status

  • Ensure compliance with Program and Product requirements as reflected in design plans

  • Lead a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers

  • Travel up to 10% annually

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience managing technical projects including schedule and Earned Value management risk management customer interaction and briefing leadership

  • 2 years of experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering program management and/or customers.

  • 2 years of experience working in an Agile development environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively document and present ones work and status

  • Experienced with RTL coding in VHDL

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Experienced with FPGA development

  • Experienced with SW development

  • Embedded Operating Systems using Linux Green Hills Integrity VxWorks andor LynxOS

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

The salary range for this role is 132400 USD - 251600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
