Job Summary
Concrete Industries Inc. is looking for a forklift operator to join their pipe division. This position operates a rough terrain lift truck in a safe and efficient manner while yarding Concrete Industries pipe and manhole products and materials. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Operates a lift truck in a safe and efficient manner through levers and pedals to drive the vehicle and control movement of lifting apparatus.

Positions forks or other lifting device under over or around products or materials and transports load to designated area.

Coordinates storage of concrete products with other yard staff.

Accurately loads concrete pipe and manhole products for shipment in accordance with Concrete Industries and D.O.T. shipping practices.

Removes waste material and waste product to maintain a clean yard.

Assists with maintenance and repairs of pertinent equipment.

Performs daily inspections and reports maintenance that may be required or performs minor repairs.

Follows all OSHA NEBCO and Concrete Industries safety and human resource policies programs and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
• one year of related experience operating forklift; or
• equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications Licenses Registrations:

• Valid Drivers License
• Forklift certification will need to be obtained within 3 months of hire date.

Other Qualifications:

• Must have safety awareness and the ability to assure work is performed according to department safety standards.
• Must have excellent depth perception to load and onload materials without damaging the load.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Must have general maintenance knowledge and ability.
• Must be self motivated and able to follow directions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills; simple addition subtraction multiplication and division is required.
• Ability to follow supervisory directions and realize safe operating procedures.
