JOB SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) to assist with material handling shipping receiving and other activities. The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may expand to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Comply with company Safety Policies and Procedures
Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks by forklift as required.
Loading and verification of outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality/quantity of part numbers
Verify products picked match the shipping order
Ensure items received are delivered and put away daily
Ensure material storage areas and receiving area are kept clean from debris and trash
Distribute requested items to production line in an accurate and timely fashion as needed
Improve and maintain plant and outside yard 5S/Safety
Manually handle product combining and sorting material from pallet to pallet
Assist with yearly Physical Inventory
Other projects as requested
Regular attendance timeliness and scheduling flexibility

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Sort stage & load pallets and related material in a safe manner following Westlake Forklift Safe Operation guidelines and policies
Assist in inventory management of pallets to ensure production operations continue without interruption
Required to operate a sit-down forklift and/or electric pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner
Able to effectively work within a diverse team environment and be productive while unsupervised
Basic Computer skills
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as shipping/receiving information
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form in English
Some minor pallet repairs

Bilingual English and Spanish preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
1 - 2 years experience in a relevant field

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
Prolong standing or in stationary position
Complete repetitive movements
Bend and/or twist
Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
Ability to work around dust chemicals and other substances and in various environmental conditions
Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing vision and hardhat protection)
Must be able to work split shift (to train off shifts on safety concerns and changes)

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TRABAJO

El Operador de montacargas es responsable de la operación segura de un Vehículo Industrial Motorizado (PIV) para asistir con la manipulación envío recepción de materiales y otras actividades. La lista de deberes y responsabilidades no es del todo inclusiva y podría expandirse para incluir otras responsabilidades y tareas según la administración estime conveniente.

FUNCIONES ESENCIALES:
Cumplir con las políticas y procedimientos de la empresa
Carga y descarga de materiales sobre o desde camiones mediante montacargas según sea necesario
Carga y verificación de envíos salientes para precisión y calidad/cantidad de números de pieza
Verificar productos seleccionados para igualar la orden de envío
Garantizar que los artículos recibidos se envíen y aparten a diario
Garantizar que las áreas de almacenamiento de material y el área de recepción se mantengan limpias de residuos y desperdicios
Distribuir los artículos solicitados a la línea de producción de manera precisa y oportuna según sea necesario
Mejorar y mantener el índice de 5S/Seguridad de la planta y el patio exterior
Manipular manualmente la combinación de productos y clasificación de materiales de paleta a paleta
Asistir con el inventario físico anual
Otros proyectos según se solicite
Tener una asistencia regular puntualidad y flexibilidad de horario

CONOCIMIENTO DESTREZAS Y CAPACIDADES
Clasificar organizar y cargar paletas y material asociado de manera segura siguiendo las pautas y políticas de Operación Segura de Montacargas de Westlake
Asistir en la gestión de inventario de paletas para garantizar que las operaciones de producción sigan sin interrupción
Debe operar una carretilla con asiento y/o gato eléctrico de manera segura y eficiente
Capacidad de trabajar de manera efectiva dentro de un entorno de equipo diverso y ser productivo al estar sin supervisión
Habilidades informáticas básicas
Debe tener la capacidad para leer e interpretar documentos tales como la información de envío/recepción
Capacidad de interpretar una variedad de instrucciones facilitadas en formato escrito oral de diagrama o programa de Ingles
Algunas reparaciones menores en paletas

Bilingüe inglés y español preferido

EDUCACIÓN Y/O EXPERIENCIA
El empleado debe tener lo siguiente:
1-2 Anos de experiencia relevante

El empleado debe poseer la capacidad de:
Exponerse a sonidos o niveles de ruido que podrían ser incómodos
Resistir temperaturas extremas internas y externas
Mantener una posición estacionaria o permanecer de pie
Completar movimientos repetitivos
Inclinarse y/o girarse
Levantar/mover/transportar artículos de hasta 50 libras
Capacidad para mover o desplazarse por las instalaciones
Capacidad para trabajar alrededor de polvo químicos y otras sustancias y en diversas condiciones ambientales
Usar todo el equipo de protección personal (protección de audición vista y casco)
Debe ser capaz de trabajar en turno dividido (de capacitarse fuera del turno en problemas de seguridad y cambios)
