Foreman Rigging

Position Summary:

The position consists of specializing in the lifting and moving of extremely large or heavy objects.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervises and coordinates the activity with craft workers to ensure that work is done safely correctly and in a timely manner

• Use knowledge and understanding of the technical installation requirements for the work under his/her supervision to include drawings specifications procedures and codes

• Follows direction from supervisor

• Must have experience in rigging

• Must be able to obtain Zachry ETS signaling certification.

• Loads transports unloads and assists in selecting cables ropes pulleys winches blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved

• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams ceilings and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps

• Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops wires ropes and chains to crane hook

• Gives direction to crane operator or hoisting engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material

• Inspect and repair all components of boiler systems and associated mechanical equipment

• Follow direction from Supervisor

• Other duties as assigned

• Must have experience using industrial hand tools and power tools

• Must have reliable transportation

• Must have good problem-solving abilities

• Must have good aptitude and manual dexterity

• Good reading comprehension

• Ability to work with others team player including good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors

• Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations

• Must have knowledge of crane signals operating a torch and operate a plasma cutter

Valued but not required skills knowledge and abilities:

• Former Zachry employee

• Formal education/degree/certificate in construction technical or trade school such as NCCER Certification or NCCCO in rigging.

Reports to Position

This position will be responsible for a crew of up to 5-15 craft workers. The crew will be a mix of journeyman helpers and laborers.

Physical Requirements

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing walking bending squatting sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal grab hold turn push and pull: objects materials controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up lift carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights climb ladders and stairways and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat rain cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat safety glasses/spoggles ear plugs masks/respirators hi-vis safety vests leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
