Food Service Assistant/Food Prep

Description:Food Service Assistant/Food Prep Part-time/Hourly position. This position assists with daily food service operations including basic food preparation portioning and serving meals setting up serving areas maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas and properly storing food and supplies. Additional duties may include washing dishes cleaning food-preparation equipment and utensils and assisting with other tasks as needed.

This position works in a school environment and involves direct interaction with students. A professional friendly service-oriented demeanor is essential along with the ability to maintain a positive welcoming environment for students faculty and staff. This position reports directly to the Food Service Director.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Prior food service or food preparation experience preferred

• Ability to follow food safety sanitation and safe food-handling procedures

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to stand for extended periods bend squat and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with students and colleagues

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Experience working in a school setting is a plus

Hours:Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m.1:00 p.m. when school is in session.
