Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Flexographic Press Assistant in its Dallas TX label manufacturing plan to produce pressure-sensitive labels. The position responsibilities include assisting in the setting up operating monitoring and maintaining high speed of a computerized press to produce quality custom labels. This position will be required to run the press if the operator is out for any reason and to have a working knowledge of all the aspects of the press.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instructions from job orders. Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct.

  • Assist in set up/adjust press for job runs to meet specifications.

  • Assist in monitoring product for quality during job runs. Check preciseness of detail against specifications. Take action to correct any problems.

  • Help monitor equipment during job runs. Remain alert to mechanical problems and refer as necessary to maintenance.

  • Initiate the start up and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule when there isnt a lead operator.

  • Assist in meeting standards for output waste and spoilage.

  • Pack finished products into cartons or secure rolled product label and stack on pallets. Help oversee the work of the packer(s) when assigned. Give instruction as appropriate to assigned packer(s).

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep. Submit work orders for press maintenance or repair as necessary.

  • Complete with accuracy related logs and paperwork as required.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines. Keep workspace clean and organized.

Your Shift: 7 am to 7 pm. alternating 12-hour shift working 3 days one week and 4 days the next in a two-week pattern.


You Must Have:

  • Training and/or on-the-job experience equivalent to apprenticeship completion on rotary web press

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language

  • Shop math skills

  • Ability to understand and apply detailed information

  • Ability to learn and operate computerized equipment on presses

  • Knowledge of paper stocks inks and related materials/techniques used in printing industry

  • Work planning skills

  • Ability to meet physical demands of job (lifting standing machine noise)

  • Ability to complete detail work precisely

  • Knowledge of safety standards

  • Ability to meet performance and quality standards


Requirements within this position:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand.

  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position.

  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials.

  • Frequently required to move inside the facility.

  • Regularly move up to 25 pounds (lift push pull and/or carry).


We Would Also Prefer:

  • Prior flexographic press operator experience.
