Job Summary
Role Descriptions:
- 8 years of experience managing Linux-based edge device fleets.
- Hands-on experience with fleet management tools like BalenaCloud balenaCLI metropolis and container-based deployments
- Strong experience with Docker containers and Docker Compose
- CI/CD pipeline implementation using tools such as GitLab CI/CD GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Container image build optimization and deployment control using Git
- Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu Debian Raspberry Pi OS)
- Device troubleshooting remote diagnostics and log analysis
- Shell scripting (Bash)
- Network configuration and security for remote edge devices
- Python for automation deployment tools and monitoring
- API integration and automation scripting
Good-to-Have
- Experience integrating edge devices with cloud platforms such as:
- Azure IoT
- AWS IoT
- Google Cloud IoT
- Understanding of VPNs firewalls proxies and secure communications
- Familiarity with MQTT REST APIs WebSockets
- Air-gapped/offline deployment strategies
- Kubernetes/K3s at the edge
- Device security certificate management and secure boot
- Observability tools (Prometheus Grafana ELK Stack)
- Experience with ARM-based devices (Raspberry Pi Jetson etc..)SNResponsibility of / Expectations from the Role 1
- Provision configure and onboard edge devices into BalenaCloud fleets.
- Manage device lifecycle activities including registration updates maintenance and decommissioning.
- Deploy and monitor containerized applications across distributed edge device fleets.
- Configure fleet-wide environment variables device settings and application releases.
- Plan and execute OTA (Over-the-Air) software and firmware updates with minimal operational disruption.
