Job Summary

Role Descriptions:

  • 8 years of experience managing Linux-based edge device fleets.
  • Hands-on experience with fleet management tools like BalenaCloud balenaCLI metropolis and container-based deployments
  • Strong experience with Docker containers and Docker Compose
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation using tools such as GitLab CI/CD GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Container image build optimization and deployment control using Git
  • Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu Debian Raspberry Pi OS)
  • Device troubleshooting remote diagnostics and log analysis
  • Shell scripting (Bash)
  • Network configuration and security for remote edge devices
  • Python for automation deployment tools and monitoring
  • API integration and automation scripting


Good-to-Have

  • Experience integrating edge devices with cloud platforms such as:
  • Azure IoT
  • AWS IoT
  • Google Cloud IoT
  • Understanding of VPNs firewalls proxies and secure communications
  • Familiarity with MQTT REST APIs WebSockets
  • Air-gapped/offline deployment strategies
  • Kubernetes/K3s at the edge
  • Device security certificate management and secure boot
  • Observability tools (Prometheus Grafana ELK Stack)
  • Experience with ARM-based devices (Raspberry Pi Jetson etc..)SNResponsibility of / Expectations from the Role 1
  • Provision configure and onboard edge devices into BalenaCloud fleets.
  • Manage device lifecycle activities including registration updates maintenance and decommissioning.
  • Deploy and monitor containerized applications across distributed edge device fleets.
  • Configure fleet-wide environment variables device settings and application releases.
  • Plan and execute OTA (Over-the-Air) software and firmware updates with minimal operational disruption.
