Fleet Diesel Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing repairing and performing preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks trailers and related equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our fleet operates safely efficiently and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Fleet Diesel Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on diesel equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic and aftertreatment system issues.
- Experienced with engines transmissions drivetrains brakes suspension components and electrical systems.
- Utilize diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools.
- Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
- Respond to road calls and emergency repairs as needed.
- Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining parts inventory and shop tools.
Fleet Diesel Technician Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid drivers license.
- Experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Will need to read and interpret service manuals wiring diagrams and technical documents.
- Will need ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment.
Preferred
- CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
- Knowledge of Cummins and other diesel engine platforms.
- Possess your own tools
