Fleet Diesel Technician


Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing repairing and performing preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks trailers and related equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our fleet operates safely efficiently and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.


Fleet Diesel Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on diesel equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic and aftertreatment system issues.
  • Experienced with engines transmissions drivetrains brakes suspension components and electrical systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools.
  • Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
  • Respond to road calls and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining parts inventory and shop tools.

Fleet Diesel Technician Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Will need to read and interpret service manuals wiring diagrams and technical documents.
  • Will need ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment.

Preferred

  • CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Knowledge of Cummins and other diesel engine platforms.
  • Possess your own tools
