Fixed Maintenance Mechanic Paste Plant

About the Role:

The Fixed Maintenance Mechanic for the Paste Plant plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all fixed mechanical equipment within the plant. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The mechanic will collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams to identify potential mechanical issues and implement preventive measures. By maintaining equipment reliability the role directly contributes to the plants productivity and overall operational excellence. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings schematics and manuals.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification or diploma in Mechanical Maintenance or related field.
• Experience working in a paste plant or similar industrial setting.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections preventive maintenance and repairs on fixed mechanical equipment such as pumps conveyors valves and piping systems within the paste plant.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective corrective actions to restore equipment functionality promptly.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules that minimize production interruptions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status repair activities and parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities to promote a safe working environment.
