The Opportunity:

Washington State Universitys Finance & Business Services department is now accepting applications for a Fiscal Technician 2 to support our Payroll Services unit. As a Fiscal Technician 2 your primary function is to perform ongoing routine and repetitive fiscal tasks both in a manual and automated payroll system. You will compile and compute payroll data from a variety of source documents such as Time Reports Personnel Action Forms withholding forms this role you will also prepare review verify and process payroll documents under tight deadlines to help process a semi-monthly payroll. Strong communication skills are required to request information or help resolve discrepancies and you should have the ability to pay attention to detail and work accurately with numbers. You should also be prepared and comfortable working as a member of a team. Mandatory overtime may be required at certain times during the year.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3485 to $4633 Range 38 Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with
RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent; one year of general clerical or fiscal experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel Outlook and Word.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and work accurately with numbers.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work additional hours or overtime including possible nights weekends and/or holidays to meet deadlines during peak workload situations

  • Comfortable working as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday

  • Clerical experience in higher education.
