What you will do:

The Fire Detection Inspector Intern will support the inspection testing and maintenance of fire detection systems under the guidance of experienced professionals. This internship provides hands-on exposure to building safety systems regulatory compliance and customer service in a field-based service environment.

How you will do it:

  • Assist with routine inspection and testing of fire detection systems across customer sites

  • Support preventative maintenance activities for both Johnson Controls and competitor-branded systems

  • Learn and apply safety standards codes and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Identify and report minor system issues during inspections under supervision

  • Support documentation accuracy by organizing service records and inspection data

  • Assist in completing service acknowledgments and maintaining customer records

  • Collaborate with technicians and team members to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery

  • Provide professional responsive support to customers during service interactions

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at a tech school or university

  • Basic understanding of mechanical electrical or building systems (academic or hands-on exposure)

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow safety protocols

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented field-based environment

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.00 - $22.00/hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity location and alignment with market data.)
