Job Summary

Position Overview:

The Financial Reporting Analyst II supports the Credit Unions financial reporting regulatory reporting and technical accounting functions by preparing complex financial information performing technical accounting analyses and independently completing specialized accounting activities including loan accounting. This position contributes to the accuracy compliance and continuous improvement of the Credit Unions financial reporting processes through technical expertise and sound professional judgment.

Core Job / Requirements/Outcomes

  • Prepare accurate and timely external financial reporting by independently completing financial statement support regulatory reporting audit activities and related reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory guidance.
  • Perform specialized accounting and technical analyses by preparing CECL calculations loan accounting activities accounting research and other complex accounting responsibilities while identifying issues and recommending appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Improve financial reporting processes by utilizing reporting technologies enhancing documentation identifying process improvements and collaborating across the department to strengthen reporting efficiency and internal controls.

Other Essential Functions

  • Support departmental or credit union wide initiatives and projects by contributing as an effective project team member and complete all tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Provide support across the Financial Reporting team through cross-training knowledge sharing and assisting with department responsibilities as needed
  • Ensure accuracy attention to detail and timeliness in all aspects of financial reporting accounting and analytical work to support sound financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting department by providing timely professional and courteous service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards regulatory guidance and tax requirements while identifying opportunities to improve accounting policies procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications :

Education Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Job Experience Minimum of two years experience in an accounting or finance position preferably in a financial institution or in a public accounting/auditing position. Proven ability to work independently while demonstrating competency in communication and time management skills.

Software Skills Expert knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook Word Excel and Teams. Proven experience with report writing and/or data base (SQL data warehouse).

Physical Demands Must be able to regularly talk hear and operate a computer keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
