The Rescue Mission Alliance is a nonprofit organization committed to ending hunger and homelessness. Our work is rooted in compassion respect and serviceproviding shelter food clothing and hope to those in need.
We are seeking a Finance Intern to support our Finance Department with day-to-day accounting responsibilities and projects. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in areas such as accounts receivable reconciliations data entry and financial record keeping. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Business Finance Economics Accounting or a related field who is interested in gaining practical experience in a nonprofit finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Reconciliation
- Assist with grant payment reconciliation
- Assist with accounts receivable reconciliation
- Assist with accounts receivable invoice entry
- Assist with custody account deposit entry
Financial Records & Department Support
- Organize and maintain store receipts for record keeping
- Assist with day-to-day accounting responsibilities as needed
- Support Finance Department projects and other assigned tasks
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
Safety & General Responsibilities
- Follow organizational safety policies and procedures
- Promote a safety-first attitude while completing assigned responsibilities
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Finance Economics Accounting or a related field
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Passion for the mission and vision of the Rescue Mission
