Role Summary
The Accounting & Finance Intern will support the Finance team by assisting with accounting operations financial reporting budgeting forecasting and business analysis activities. This position provides hands-on experience in a dynamic aerospace and technology environment allowing the intern to develop practical accounting and finance skills while contributing to the organizations financial processes and strategic decision-making.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable accounts receivable expense reporting and other day-to-day accounting activities.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
- Assist with maintaining financial records documentation and supporting schedules.
- Compile organize and analyze financial data for reporting and business decision-making.
- Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports dashboards and presentations.
- Conduct research and analysis to support finance accounting and operational initiatives.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support business objectives.
- Participate in team meetings training sessions and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Accounting Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong analytical quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required to perform the responsibilities of this role.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- If this role requires access to information controlled under U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR) applicants must also qualify as a U.S. person under 22 CFR 120.62 (U.S. citizen U.S. national lawful permanent resident or protected individual such as an asylee or refugee).
Preferred
- Coursework in financial accounting managerial accounting corporate finance economics or related subjects.
- Experience with financial modeling budgeting forecasting or financial analysis.
- Familiarity with accounting systems ERP platforms or financial reporting tools.
- Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables formulas and data analysis functions.
- Previous internship work experience leadership activities or academic projects related to accounting or finance.
- Interest in aerospace technology manufacturing or government contracting industries.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to occasionally move throughout office warehouse manufacturing or production environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing or production areas.
