This position plays a key role in completing service orders which may include delivering notices finding meters reading meters and miscellaneous tasks necessary for the utility billing department. This position requires a high degree of driving excellent time management and exceptional flexibility day to day. Salary Transparency: Pay for this position is at $17/ live within 20 miles of Youll Do:Meter maintenance:Remove inactive meters locating curb valves discontinue services and conduct safety inspections including detection of gas leaks or theft assigned duties in the required time frame for cycle sequence numbers to new meter reading routes as meters on a daily and/or special basis typically on a customers premises for service unsafe conditions; may need to clean out meter electric gas water meter reading printed materials such as service orders maps manuals and computer meters in various environmental walk and stand for much of the for long distances (occasionally up to 20 miles per day) in various weather conditions (rain sleet hail snow extreme heat or cold etc.) Exert physical force moving objects (routinely 10lbs of force up to an occasional 50lbs of force) Customer communication: Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate provide general information about the meter services to customers when telephones tablets and/or computers to duties as You:Must haves: Education: Education: None. Must be 18 years of age or olderExperience: No experience necessary. Employees will be trained. Must possess a valid drivers to haves: Education: High School Diploma or : Experience in meter reading or working in outdoor conditions; 1 year of continuous work with the same employer and/or 6 or more months working Skills: Ability to multi-task and work independently and as a team. Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling. Adequate time management skills to finish daily meter maintenance. Excellent communication skills comfortable interacting with management and customers. Ability to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional manner. Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions accordingly.
