Job Summary
Field Service Technician Communications
As a Field Service Technician you will provide onsite technical service and support for Stryker Communications products within an assigned territory. Youll work directly with healthcare customers to investigate troubleshoot repair and resolve complex technical issues while delivering a high level of customer service.
This role involves working with a variety of medical technology and equipment including Video/Audio Integration platforms Advanced LED Surgical Lights Medical Equipment Management Systems Networking systems and Surgical Tables. Technicians work independently with guidance from a Team Lead and/or RISM and use established procedures and critical problem-solving skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing field service troubleshooting repairs maintenance and quality checks on Stryker Communications equipment at customer sites.
Following written procedures for mechanical electrical and electronic systems.
Managing service calls from initial issue through resolution and maintaining accurate technical and quality documentation.
Partnering with Operations R&D and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
Communicating effectively with customers and healthcare professionals including hospital biomedical and nursing staff.
Providing onsite training to new employees and when needed hospital staff on equipment and technical processes.
Supporting post-market surveillance activities and appropriately escalating issues that may require FDA notification or MDR reporting.
Maintaining compliance with company policies quality systems and required ComplianceWire training.
Keeping leaders and team members informed of significant issues risks and technical challenges.
Exercising the independence and authority needed to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met and making decisions that may impact immediate operations and in some cases the broader organization.
Physical Requirements
Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to review printed materials.
Must have demonstrated fine motor skills.
Must be able to use sophisticated test and office computer equipment (e.g. calculator PC telephone Broadcast test and measurement equipment etc.)
Ability to work with large pieces of equipment.
Skills / Experience Required
2 years of installation or production line experience with Stryker Communications or 2-3 years industry experience with relevant field service experience.
High School Diploma or GED required
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with surgeons hospital staff nurses and biomedical personnel
Ability to prioritize issues.
Computer literate.
Functional with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
Basic electronic and mechanical aptitude
Skilled at cable termination of all standard digital and analog industry connectors.
Knowledge of video audio and data communications systems.
Knowledge of OR etiquette and basic hospital procedure
Valid drivers license
United States of America Pay Ranges:
- USN: $31.92 - $44.88 USD Hourly
- US10: $35.12 - $49.37 USD Hourly
