Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Process Engineer to drive on-site process engineering support with Field Operations coordinate field activities to support innovation initiatives and work closely with our customers on troubleshooting and/or future planning for their facilities. This role is rooted in effective internal and external collaboration that bridges our technical teams with field operations ensuring operational excellence customer responsiveness and innovation focus.

Essential Responsibilities

Field Operations Support

  • Ensure that Water Treatment Projects/Plants operate to meet process requirements during commissioning performance test and warranty periods.
  • Ensure complex systems that might include Conventional Technologies Reverse Osmosis Ultrafiltration Ion Exchange Units Thermal and other technologies operate within the design parameters.
  • Proactively review Process Design Parameters Process and Instrumentation Diagram Mass  Balances and Performance Test Requirements prior to pre-commissioning phase in order to anticipate training tools and/or laboratory equipment needed to perform the necessary startup and operating activities with Process Engineering and Field Operations.
  • Ensure technical solutions are properly communicated to key internal and external stakeholders in order to expedite project execution.
  • Assist Customers and Field staff with best operating practices development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process-specific training during commissioning activities and/or normal operation.
  • Provide in-office and on-site project technical support during installation and commissioning phase project closeout and warranty periods.
  • Work with Field Operations to collect and analyze relevant operating information from multiple sources including control systems databases log sheets daily operation logs and/or operator interactions in order to troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Work closely with the Process Engineering and Field Operations teams and others to ensure that issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support the development and testing of new processes and technologies at North American
  • customer sites or other locations
  • Collaborate with the innovation program managers to operationalize field activities related to new
  • solutions in field environments
  • Document lessons learned and best practices from field implementations for Process Engineering
  • Process Design Support when field process engineering and innovation support needs are not as active on site this role includes flexibility to perform traditional process engineering work. This responsibility is secondary in priority and facilitates opportunities for further technical growth.
  • Design complete water wastewater or waste treatment solutions (flow sheet unit processes process parameters) that will meet the customers requirements for a given influent and required effluent stream qualities using various in house and industry design tools
  • Application of advanced treatment technologies including solids separation low- and high-pressure
  • membrane treatment (ultrafiltration nanofiltration reverse osmosis - conventional and high-pH) ion exchange UV treatment and gas-transfer membrane processes to meet the stringent requirements specific to the microelectronics industry
  • Contribute to the overall Process Flow Diagram (PFD) associated flow tables or mass balance and overall
  • process guarantees including management of the interconnections between unit processes and
  • consideration of any impacts of one unit process on upstream or downstream unit processes.
  • Engagement in piloting and benchmarking & treatability studies as part of design commissioning troubleshooting and continuous improvement of UPW and WW treatment solutions.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related physical science (physics chemistry biology) with minimum 8 years experience with water and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Valid passport and drivers license.
  • Ability to travel (60-90 days/year) throughout North America.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Work independently with minimal direction and make decisions adapting quickly as needed.
  • Strong aptitude for planning prioritizing organizing scheduling assigning and evaluating work coupled with clear concise communication and presentation skills. 
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment across different offices/geographical regions. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new problems clients and situations.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles with ability to build relationships and balance customer and internal teams

Desired Characteristics

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with process optimization and lean methodologies
  • Project management experience
